Check-In #1

So I broke two of my three goals last week, but more importantly I actually followed through on goal # 1. Yep, I worked out 6 out of 7 days. In addition, I completed the first week of the program and I signed up for my first 5k(ever). So overall, I am very happy with last week. As or my goals...
Goals:
  1. Workout at least 6x a week. 
  2. Drink 9 glasses of water a day. 
  3. Journal/post at least 3 times a week (track the program). 
I'm gonna keep on working on goal #2 and I'm changing goal #3. Instead of 3 times a week, I will be checking in once a week. I've also been following the Tone It Up program. I love it! Inspiration board to come.

Couch to 5k

Today I started the Couch to 5k program with my husband as my coach/cheerleader. I've wanted to get into running for awhile now, but I've made excuse after excuse. Honestly, I've never been a runner. I LOVE walking! Always have...but cardio wise it's just not enough anymore. Since so many of my friends seem to recommend this program, I finally decided to get my butt off the couch and get to work. 

I'm going to be starting a log along with the run to keep me accountable. Along with this log I have set some goals for this month. 

Goals: 
  1. Workout at least 6x a week.
  2. Drink 9 glasses of water a day. 
  3. Journal/post at least 3 times a week (track the program). 
Bonus Goal: I love the Tone It Up! girls! They have super fun workout videos! So my bonus goal is to purchase their newly released Beach Babe DVD

Day 1: 
A brisk 5 minute warm-up walk followed by 20 minutes run/walk intervals. The intervals consist of alternating 60 seconds of running with 90 seconds of walking. 

I did it. Not too bad, but man I felt out of shape. Haha 
I'm excited to continue the program. My plan is to do the program on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays will be a walk and/or a work out video. Saturdays I usually take a hike with a friend of mine on one of our local trails.

Lazy Day...More Like Lazy Week

Last week was awesome! I kept up with our cleaning schedule perfectly. I organized, prioritized, and was just plain kickin' laziness in the butt. This week...not so much. There are a lot of factors involved in why I've been not so on-top of my shiz, but truly it has everything to do with lack of sleep. 


My goal for the remainder of my unproductive week: 


Get some SLEEP! Okay SHAPE, what do you have in mind? Oh sleep rehab you say...I'm in!

Clean House

Part of the purpose of this blog is to keep myself accountable for my goals. This month is more of a shared goal with my husband. Our goal is to keep our house in order and follow a daily cleaning schedule, which really should free up our weekends. Here is the schedule that I created:



Basically we'd like our place to look less like an episode of Hoarders, and more like a showcase at Ikea. Just kidding...it's all about maximizing the time we have together.
